Setting up

Mode

Sets how the plugin corrects.

LIVE CRISP VOICE FULL
  • Live 1.3 ms. Sing through it while you track.
  • Crisp 18 ms. Tight correction at low delay.
  • Voice 25 ms. For a sung vocal.
  • Full 40 ms. Full range, for the deepest material.

Crisp, Voice and Full run a brand new correction algorithm, written from scratch for Performative.

Key
Sets the key and scale the plugin tunes to. Pick major, minor, chromatic or custom.

Shaping the correction

Retune

Sets how fast a note is pulled to pitch, in milliseconds. Instant tunes hard. Gentle takes its time.

Instant
Gentle

Dashed line: the note being aimed at. Faint line: the voice, 30 cents flat. Solid line: what leaves the plugin.

Flow

Decides how much of your own pitch movement survives. Turn it up for fast riffs, or for singing that eases into notes. At 0 the plugin corrects at full strength the whole time. At 100% it follows your voice while it moves, and only tunes where you hold a note.

Flow 0
Flow 100%

Dashed line: the note being aimed at. Faint line: the voice, scooping in and then holding. Solid line: what leaves the plugin.

Formant

Keeps your voice sounding like you while the pitch moves. The switch only appears in Live. The other modes do this on their own.

Formant off
Formant on

Bars: the pitch, shifted up the same amount in both. Solid curve: the shape that makes it sound like your voice. Dashed curve: where that shape sat before the shift.

Leaving the plugin

Mix
Blends the corrected voice with your original. Turn it down to keep some of the untouched take.
Output
Sets the level leaving the plugin, in decibels.

Readouts

Sung and True

Sung is the note you sang. True is the note the plugin is moving it to.

The row sits under the needle. Here the voice is a semitone under the note it is being moved to.

No signal
Appears when no audio is reaching the plugin. The same spot reads In tune, Flat or Sharp once sound arrives.
